This week I am reading Twilight of Democracy by Anne Apelbaum
Well done Eric and well aware that I and or love one’s could be the next victim and at any age, frightening. Glad that you continue to fight for action from our Scottish Government to have treatment more readily available.
Thank you, John
An excellent article, Eric, which prompted me to search online for recent articles about strokes and the thrombectomy procedure. As I suffer from high blood pressure, I wondered what my chances of survival or speedy access to treatment would be and was horrified to find that in Wales we only have two consultants (as of July 2022) who specialise in strokes, and both are in Cardiff. To someone living outside Wales, that may not appear to be an issue, but one only has to look at a map of Wales to see that Cardiff is in the far south of the Principality whereas I live in North East Wales near to Wrexham. We would probably be sent across the border to Liverpool. I feel a letter to my Welsh Assembly Member might be in order. Thank you for highlighting this.
Hope all is well with you and the family.
Thanks, Eileen, and best wishes for your OU results.
